OUR MISSION
Building safer and
stronger communities in partnership with the tourism sector.
Our self-development, educational and enterprise projects seek
to empower disadvantaged individuals and communities to enable
them to contribute to the viability of the tourism sector and
the stability of the nation.
About the CTF
Founded in December 2000, the
CTF is a charitable organisation that partners with the public
and private sectors to improve communities through the
application of social development projects. The CTF's
initiatives create opportunities for individuals and
communities to develop sustainable livelihoods and serve to
strengthen the relationship between the tourism sector and
communities.
The CTF's Functions
- To mobilise resources from
the tourism industry to invest in low-income communities
and disadvantaged groups.
- To conduct research, and
to monitor and report on programmes.
- To facilitate and
implement social development programmes that create
sustainable livelihoods in low-income communities with the
assistance of public and private entities in the largest
economic sector - tourism.
- To stimulate the
participation of the tourism sector in community
development by providing an appropriate and visible
structure through which social investments can have the
greatest impact possible.
Target Groups
Unemployed young persons
from low-income communities
The integration of the nation's youth into the tourism product
is of utmost importance to the CTF. We are providing
opportunities for young persons to further their studies,
develop skills and engage in micro-business.
Workers in the tourism
sector
Low-income tourism workers can benefit from educational
assistance for their children.
Single parent and
unskilled women
The CTF is working to equip single parent and unskilled women
with practical skills in order to sustain themselves and their
children.
Tourism-related groups and
clubs
These clubs may benefit from the financial and technical
assistance offered by the CTF to encourage innovative
community-focused projects.
Emerging community
entrepreneurs
We support micro entrepreneurs by providing direct access to
the tourist market and by offering other forms of technical
assistance as required.
Service organisations that
work with disadvantaged people
The CTF aids non-profit organisations by providing support on
an annual or project basis. We are developing critical
partnerships with community organisations, voluntary
organisations, youth organisations and service clubs that have
a track record of established projects. These agencies are the
vehicles through which we implement several of our programmes. |
