The CTF's programmes integrate tourism and communities in a meaningful and practical way. We provide a vehicle for individuals and communities to develop sustainable livelihoods.

Community Innovations Fund

Projects:  2004-2005

Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Growers Group:  this innovative project based in Dominica features the Giraudel Flower Growers Group in Giraudel and Eggleston.  These group of horticulturalists are creating a 2-acre Botanical Centre as a tourist attraction and cruise ship stop point.

Supporting nature tourism in St. Lucia

Funding was provided to enhance the visibility and marketability of the Des Barras Turtle Watch Tour conducted by the community members of Des Barras.

Community Craft Expo

November 2002-May 2003 Set up at Highland Adventure Centre, this expo provided small craft persons needed access to visitors at one of the island's popular tourist attractions. As a regular stop on island tours for cruise passengers, Highland was an ideal place for artisans to get the penetration they need into this market.

Financial and Technical Assistance to Community-Based Training Programmes

We have donated computers to the Deacons Development Council to equip low-income people with information technology skills. Assistance has also been made available through the Community Innovations Fund to support community-based training programmes.
